Jumpers in medal haul! - [12th May 2010]
Sussex Championships - Crawley May 8/9
Lewis Cullen pulled off the Sprints win of the Championships with a 11.2 in the final of the U17 100m, this takes him to number 1 in the South East on the rankings and 10th in the UK plus an English Schools qualification, not bad for an athlete who is concentrating on his Long Jump this year! Another gold in the Long Jump with 6.12, the best mark this year for Lewis.
U15 Ellis Lockwood surpassed his expectations and is obviously heading for Combined Events in his athletic career. Ellis took home golds in the Long Jump with 5.32 Shot Put with 12.22 and Discus 32.37 he followed these with a High Jump 1.55 bronze and a 4 medal haul for the weekend!
Aidan Coree, U15, Triple Jumped his way to gold with a startling pb of 10.94 and Patrick Apantanku, U20, settled for bronze in the Triple Jump with 12.35 close to his pb after a 4th in the Long Jump with 5.45.
Patrick and Lewis are coached by Harriers coach Jennie Neal in her multi-club training group of Long and Triple jumpers, 6 of whom amassed 5 gold 2 silver and 1 bronze over the Championship weekend.
Pole Vaulter Ryan Smith, still settling with new coaches took silver with 2.95 on a day that was not made for vaulting!

Jumpers go for gold! - [25th Mar 2010]
Lewis Cullen, after a winter wrecked by a Rugby injury early on in his training came back to show where he means to be this year at the Sussex Indoor Championships in the U17 60m with a CBP and a pb of 7.36! Lewis followed this with gold in the Long Jump with 6.02 both taking him to third on the rankings for the South East. His training partners Pat Apantanku and Tilly Sampson followed with Tilly taking gold in the U17 High Jump and a bronze in the Long Jump with Pat a pb in the Triple Jump and a bronze in the Long Jump with another pb. With the 5 other athletes in their training group who competed at the weekend they amassed a haul of 15 medals, 8 gold 4 silver and 3 bronze and 7 pb's!
Pole Vaulter Ryan Smith, in his first year as an U17 and with a move to new coaches, took silver going up from last years 2.95 to a new pb of 3.10, this takes him to 5th in the South East rankings.
U15 Ellis Lockwood took double gold with two new pb's in the High Jump with 1.55 and the Long Jump 5.08 taking him to a 3rd ranking in the South East

A great pb for Ale! - [16th Feb 2010]
Former Harrier Alessandro Sinno who returned to his native Rome in July 2009 has moved on in his Pole Vaulting career by clearing 4m at an indoor meet last weekend. 15 year old Alessandro, his sister Alice and mother Daniela all joined Harriers when they came to Worthing in 2006 , Alessandro joined Jennie Neal's Jumps group, Alice in the Sprints group and Daniela trained with the Masters to great success.
