Members of the Type 2B sprint squad at Worthing Harriers have been flying the flag for Great Britain.

Sophia Warner set a new 100m European record and PB of 17.71 for a bronze medal at the World IPC championships in New Zealand running into a 2.4 headwind! In the 200m it was a silver medal for Sophia in another European record time of 37.04secs, to take 2.5secs off her PB. Sophia’s success at the championships has secured funding to aid her in preparations for London 2012.

Meanwhile Kelly Denyer flys to Utah USA on Wednesday with the GB Bobsleigh team to compete in the Junior World Champs in Park City. Kelly back from a bobsleigh injury spent last week competing in Europe on the renowned Cresta Run in St Moritz. Best of luck in Utah Kelly, and remember to keep your head down!
