The Special Olympics squad attended their first meeting of the year on Saturday 5th February. Two teams of Harriers made the trip along the coast to Portsmouth for the National Sport Hall finals. There were some very encouraging performances from all athletes which bodes well for the coming season. Some particular performances of note were Jack Tulett’s 15mtr Javelin throw and Ben Maile achieving an impressive 91 speed bounces.
The Harriers team competed against 19 other teams; with the ‘A’ team finishing 4th and only 4 points away from 3rd place. Our ‘B’ team also did very well coming 8th with 98 points.
